POM filament

TECAFIL POM - POM 3D printing filament from Ensinger

The POM filament, also known as Acetal Filament, is manufactured by Ensinger under the product name TECAFIL POM-C natural.
It is based on polyoxymethylene copolymer, POM-C. TECAFIL POM-C filament has a lower melting point, higher abrasion resistance and higher impact strength than homopolymer POM-H filaments do.

POM-H filaments are often also commonly referred to as Delrin® filament. The brand name Delrin® is a trademark of DuPont de Nemours, Inc. or one of its subsidiaries.

Our POM filament range

TECAFIL POM-C natural is characterised, among other things, by good heat resistance and high resistance to solvents, fuels and alkalis. It is also resistant to hydrolysis up to approx. 60 °C and can tolerate low temperatures down to -40 °C.
POM is often used in the food and packaging industry and is also suitable for applications in mechanical engineering, the automotive industry and other industries due to its unique property profile.

The base polymer of this filament meets the requirements for food contact according to (EC) No 1935/2004, (EU) No 10/2011, (EC) No 2023/2006 and FDA. Migration tests according to EU 10/2011 were successfully performed on similar extruded specimens. Legally binding documents must be requested separately.

POM Filaments portfolio

TECAFIL POM-C filaments can be printed on a wide range of industrial 3D printers as long as a temperature of 240 °C is not exceeded. At higher temperatures, the acetal filament is likely to release formaldehyde which can be toxic. All information about the material properties as well as the processing parameters can be found on the product detail pages.
TECAFIL POM filaments can also be fabricated into a POM 3D printed component at Ensinger. More information on POM 3D printing at Ensinger can be found here:
