The earthquake disaster in Turkey and Syria has cost the lives of tens of thousands of people. Many of the survivors are suffering immense hardship and humanitarian aid will be needed in the coming weeks and months. Plastics processing company Ensinger together with the Wilfried and Martha Ensinger Foundation are providing financial aid to those affected.
Subsidiary Ensinger Turkey Plastik based in Dilovası-Kocaeli near Istanbul has provided €2,500 for the earthquake victims in Turkey. The donations will be used to help people who have been made homeless by the natural disaster.
The Ensinger Foundation has donated €7,500 to the charitable organisation “Franziskaner Helfen“ [Franciscans Help]. The internationally active relief agency has been supporting families and their children in north west Syria for many years. This is a region where numerous refugees of civil war have sought refuge, but the houses, schools and hospitals there have now been destroyed by the earthquake. The employees of the Franciscan Order are coordinating relief efforts, providing survivors with temporary accommodation, distributing meals and organising medical supplies.
Countless people in Syria had already lost virtually everything as a result of civil war. In the north west areas that have been affected by the earthquake, the “Franziskaner Helfen” are providing families and children with drinking water, medication and food.
