Carbon fibre reinforced PPS compound with optimised sliding properties

As a high performance plastic, polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) has very resistant polymers whose excellent properties are retained even at high temperatures. TECACOMP PPS CF30 TF15 black can be used permanently at temperatures up to 230 °C and even up to 260 °C for short periods.

The thermoplastic, which is impermeable to most liquids and gases, is hydrolysis-resistant, has outstanding chemical resistance, is inherently flame-retardant and a good electrical insulator. It absorbs very little moisture and therefore has high dimensional stability and low creep even at high temperatures. 

The compound, reinforced with 30 % carbon fibres, has high stiffness and, thanks to the addition of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), improved sliding and wear properties. It is suitable for mechanically, tribologically, electrically, thermally and chemically highly stressable molded parts, for example in the electronics and automotive sectors.
