High performance compound based on PEEK for dry-running plain bearings

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK), carbon fibres, silicon carbide (SiC), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and graphite make this compound the ideal material for tribological-mechanical applications where no other lubricants are used. These include, for example, dry-running carbon plain bearings of axial piston pumps.

The carbon fibres increase the compound's strength and modulus of elasticity. The wear resistance is additionally strengthened by the extremely hard ceramic material silicon carbide. PTFE and graphite provide intrinsic solid lubrication. 

TECACOMP PEEK TRM PVX SiC can be used permanently at temperatures up to 260 °C, and up to 300 °C for short periods. The plastic matrix is resistant to most organic and inorganic chemicals. The low moisture absorption ensures very low thermal expansion and high dimensional stability.
