PP Compound TECACOMP PP ID blue
PP Compound TECACOMP PP ID blue

TECACOMP PP ID blue 1052958

Easily detectable polypropylene compound with improved impact strength.

This compound is based on antistatic polypropylene copolymer (PP-C) and has been optimised to be easily visible and detectable. Contamination of food, e.g. by abrasion or fragments of plastic components such as safety seals in processing machines, can be detected and ruled out quickly and reliably.

TECACOMP PP ID blue is suitable for contact with foodstuffs in accordance with FDA and EU 10/2011, and its intense colouring (similar to RAL 5003) makes it easily recognisable to the naked eye. A metal-based additive enables reliable identification by metal and X-ray detectors (tested by RONDOTEST, Ensinger Detection Level High).

Although the PP-C compound has a lower tensile strength than the variants based on PP homopolymer (16 MPa vs. 25 MPa), it has a higher impact strength
(78 kJ/m2 vs. 20 kJ/m2 for TECACOMP PP ID blue 1014912 and 34 kJ/m2 for TECACOMP PP ID blue 1061097). The good chemical resistance, low moisture absorption and low density of 1.29 g/cmenable a wide range of applications at permanent operating temperatures of up to 90 °C, and up to 130 °C for short periods.
