TECAFIL PC FRT GF10 black - 1.75 mm

Flame retardant plastic filament for the railway industry

TECAFIL PC FRT GF10 black is a glass fibre-reinforced, flame retardant filament based on polycarbonate that has been specially developed for the railway industry.
3D printing in the rail industry enables efficient and resource-saving production of prototypes, low-volume production and spare parts. With 3D printed parts, supply bottlenecks and unnecessary warehousing can be avoided thanks to rapid, on-demand production, short transport routes and low production waste. Local production also saves on transport and reduces the carbon footprint.

Like many high temp 3D filaments, TECAFIL PC FRT GF10 black is characterised by its flame retardant properties and high mechanical strength. However, as it is an engineering plastic, it offers easier processing compared to high temperature 3D printing materials. 3D-printed test specimens made from TECAFIL PC FRT GF10 black have been tested in accordance with EN 45545-2:2020 and classified as R1. This makes it suitable for demanding applications in the railway industry. In addition, printed samples of the filament were tested in accordance with FAR 25.853 and the requirements of UL94V-0.

Our flame retardant 3D printer filament TECAFIL PC FRT GF10 black is therefore ideal for components that have to withstand mechanical stress and a wide range of temperatures The engineering grade filament can be used universally for prototypes and small series, is suitable for both small and large-format parts and offers a flame-retardant, durable solution for functional components in the railway industry. In addition, obsolete parts can be reprinted, extending the service life of trains and simplifying maintenance.

Thanks to its excellent fire properties and very good processability in 3D printing, TECAFIL PC FRT GF10 black is an attractive alternative to inherently flame retardant high temperature 3D printing materials such as PEEK or PEI in many applications, making it the best polycarbonate filament for applications in the railway industry.
