TECACOMP PPS TRM XS black is a high-performance PPS compound based on polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), which was developed for components subject to high thermal and mechanical stress. The PPS granulate offers a combination of high temperature resistance, mechanical rigidity, and excellent chemical stability, making it suitable for applications in mechanical engineering, drive technology, and the automotive sector.
Compounding with carbon fibres and graphite specifically improves tensile strength, elastic modulus, and tribological behavior. The CF-GR combination of active ingredients reduces the coefficient of friction. However, the combination for TECACOMP PPS TRM XS black is particularly notable for its excellent wear resistance.
The PPS granulate is designed for continuous use up to 230°C and can withstand short-term temperatures of up to 260°C without any significant loss of properties. Thermal length change is minimal due to low water absorption and high heat resistance. Dimensional stability remains constant even under temperature stress and humidity.
In addition to its excellent media resistance to organic solvents, acids, and alkalis, the PPS compound also meets the flame resistance requirements of UL 94 V-0 without the addition of halogenated flame retardants. Furthermore, the PPS granulate is optimized for injection moulding. This makes the material ideal for sliding and structural parts subject to friction, e.g., in guides, housing elements, friction pairs, or function units subject to thermal stress.
