TECACOMP POM TRM natural is a tribologically optimised POM compound developed on the basis of a highly crystalline POM homopolymer. Through compounding with polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), integrated solid lubrication is achieved directly in the polymer matrix. This modified POM resin enables dry lubrication in friction-prone applications without the need for additional external lubricants.
Compared to conventional POM granules or unreinforced POM plastic granules, TECACOMP POM TRM natural exhibits significantly lower sliding friction coefficients while delivering improved wear resistance – particularly under oscillating operating conditions.
The POM granulate is characterised by very low moisture absorption and low thermal expansion. Combined with high heat deflection temperature and creep resistance, continuous use is possible from -30 °C to +110 °C, and up to 150 °C for short-term exposure. This makes the material especially suitable for precision elements that must maintain dimensional stability under thermal stress.
Typical applications for this high-performance POM compound include plain bearings, rollers, guides, coupling elements, and other tribologically stressed parts in automotive and industrial environments. Thanks to its optimised tribological properties and consistent performance, it can also be processed efficiently by POM injection moulding for series production of durable functional components.
