FIBRE REINFORCED PPS WITH +/-45° REINFORCEMENT FABRIC

Polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) has high chemical and thermal resistance and is also inherently flame retardant. In TECATEC PPS CF50 X193 natural, the high temperature plastic is reinforced with a lightweight BIMAX carbon fibre fabric in a biaxial +/-45° weave. The composite has outstanding strength and stiffness and can be used permanently up to 230 °C, briefly up to 260 °C. 
With its special fibre architecture, the fibre composite can be used wherever a +/-45° alignment of the fibres is required. This means that continuous organosheets with a quasi-isotropic layup can also be produced.
Ensinger produces continuous semipregs (CP) as well as fully impregnated and consolidated prepregs (IP) in 1000 mm widths. These can then be used to produce multilayer organosheets (OS) according to customer-specific requirements, also in combination with other fibre architectures.
