CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYPHENYLENE SULPHIDE

Polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) is a semi-crystalline, thermoplastic high performance plastic. It is characterised by its very high strength and rigidity even at high temperatures - up to 230 °C permanently, up to 260 °C for a short time. Reinforcement with continuous carbon fibres significantly increases the modulus of elasticity, strength and dimensional stability.
The excellent mechanical properties of the composite over a wide temperature range are valued in aerospace, automotive and mechanical engineering as well as in sports equipment.
The resistance to hydrolysis and chemicals, solvents, acids and alkalis is outstanding. This also makes the TECATEC PPS CF50 T200 natural composite material interesting for the petrochemical industry. 
The PPS composite also resists X-rays and gamma rays and is tested in accordance with FAR 25.873 for aerospace applications. Ensinger manufactures coated semipregs (CP) and fully impregnated prepregs (IP). Pressed into multilayer organosheets (OS) on request, these are ready for thermoplastic forming.
