POLYPROPYLENE WITH 45 VOL% GLASS FIBRE REINFORCEMENT

Polypropylene (PP) is a frequently used plastic with balanced properties. The thermoplastic has good mechanical characteristics, is abrasion resistant and has good damping properties. Reinforced with continuous glass fibres, the strength and rigidity of this all-rounder is substantially improved. TECATEC PP GF45 T600 natural is used in automotive and mechanical engineering as well as for sports equipment.
The PP matrix has supreme chemical resistance and absorbs very little moisture, which also makes the fibre composite material interesting for the oil and gas industry.
The operating temperature of -10 °C to 100 °C, for a short time also 140 °C, is sufficient for numerous applications.
Coated semipregs (CP) and fully impregnated prepregs (IP) are manufactured at Ensinger in widths of up to 1270 mm. These can be consolidated into multilayer organiosheets (OS) with a thickness of up to 5 mm according to customer requirements and can be used directly for thermoforming processes.
