Polyimide TECAPOWDER PI powder for hot pressing processes
TECAPOWDER PI HCM yellow -325 mesh is a matrix material and is based on an unfilled TECAPOWDER PI polyimide. The material has an exceptionally good thermal stability of up to 330 °C. This makes TECAPOWDER PI HCM yellow suitable for applications in the high temperature range and can be used where conventional plastics would melt or soften, or where rapid thermal decomposition might take place. Other distinguishing properties are excellent chemical resistance, a low coefficient of friction and low abrasion characteristics.
TECAPOWDER PI HCM yellow -325 mesh can be used as a matrix material for the fillers graphite, glass fibre, carbon fibre and PTFE. Depending on the final composition of the fillers, the strength as well as the friction and wear properties can be changed according to requirements and application.
TECAPOWDER PI HCM yellow can therefore also be used without problems in high performance grinding, such as diamond and CBN grinding wheels.
TECAPOWDER PI HCM yellow -325 mesh can only be processed using the hot compression moulding process and is available in grit sizes -325 mesh, -1200 mesh, -425 mesh, -200 mesh and -40 mesh.
