EN ISO 23936-1 / NORSOK M-710

EN ISO 23936, as a whole, presents general principles and gives requirements and guidance for quality assurance and recommendations for the selection and qualification of non metallic materials. These materials are used in a variety of equipment used in the oil and gas production environment, where the failure of such equipment could pose a risk to the health and safety of the public and personnel, or to the environment.

The NORSOK standards are developed by the Norwegian petroleum industry to ensure adequate safety, adding value and cost effectiveness for petroleum industry developments and operations.

Requirements of the standards

Both standards require quality control tests such as specific gravity, hardness, tensile property and elongation tests, as well as chemical resistance test procedures for the qualification of thermoplastic materials exposed to fluids at elevated temperatures and pressures over an extended period of time.

ISO/NORSOK compliant materials

Ensinger’s investment in material testing according to the conditions of EN ISO 23936-1 and NORSOK M-710, specifies TECAPEEK's resistance and durability in severe conditions. The aggressive testing procedures for these approvals in terms of temperatures (up to 240°C), pressure (up to 300 bar), time (up to 60 days) as well as the high H2S levels (10% H2S in a 30% gas phase) has proved that Ensinger’s TECAPEEK products have set a new standard and are an ideal solution for the needs of the oil and gas industry.
