TECATEC PC CF45 T245 CP/IP/OS V01 natural
CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYCARBONATE
Polycarbonate (PC) is an amorphous engineering thermoplastic which, due to its low degree of crystallisation, is characterised by high transparency and impact strength in a temperature range of -40 °C to 120 °C, and up to 140 °C for short periods. The good strength, rigidity and dimensional stability of the fibre reinforced plastic are additionally reinforced with 45 vol% continuous carbon fibres.
TECATEC PC CF45 T245 natural has a low density of 1.52 g/cm3, a low thermal expansion of 5 10-6 K-1 and good dimensional stability.
Due to its high visual quality, the robust composite is also suitable for visible parts. It is also used in the construction of sports equipment and in mechanical engineering.
Ensinger produces carbon fibre reinforced polycarbonate as semipregs (CP) and fully impregnated prepregs (IP) with a width of 1270 mm. These can be processed into multilayer organosheets (OS) on request. For lower mechanical requirements or if an electrically insulating composite is required, a glass fibre reinforced version is available (e.g. TECATEC PC GF50 S296 natural).
