CARBON FIBRE REINFORCED POLYAMIDE 6 COMPOSITE PLASTIC

REQUEST FURTHER PROCESSING OPTIONS

Very good mechanical properties and high abrasion resistance characterise polyamide 6, also known as Nylon 6. For TECATEC PA6 CF50 T200 natural, the polyamide 6 matrix is reinforced with twill fabric of continuous carbon fibres. The fibre reinforcement improves strength, stiffness and dimensional stability.
Fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP and GFRP) based on PA6 is used in particular in vehicle and machine construction as well as for sports equipment. The high chemical resistance also qualifies it for the oil and gas industry.
The thermal expansion of PA6 carbon composite is very low at around 3 10-6 K-1. The material has a low density of 1.5 g/m3 and is very stiff and strong due to the carbon fibres, which is advantageous for many applications.
Ensinger also offers a Nylon 6 composite with glass fibre reinforcement (TECATEC PA6 GF45 T600 natural).
Ensinger produces in-house coated semipregs (CP), consolidated and impregnated prepregs (IP) as well as multilayer organosheets (OS) in widths up to 1270 mm.
