PPA compounds (polyphthalamide) are high-performance polyamides with high temperature and chemical resistance. Compared to PA6 or PA66, PPA granulates offer significantly better heat resistance, lower water absorption, and higher dimensional stability, even under the influence of moisture and heat.
Glass or carbon fibres can be used to increase stiffness and strength, while additives can improve tribological properties or electrical conductivity. This makes PPA plastic granulate suitable for components subject to continuous mechanical stress, thermal stress, or functional requirements.
The main applications are in the automotive industry (engine compartment, drives), electrical engineering and electronics (connectors, housings), and mechanical engineering, where heat resistance, strength, and media resistance are crucial.
