TECAPOWDER PI yellow, Granulate

Imidised polyimide TECAPOWDER PI granules

Ensinger TECAPOWDER PI is a fully imidised polyimide that does not need to be post-cured.  Due to their special chemical structure, polyimides are non-melting and non-thermoplastic. The high performance polymer is therefore always used when other engineering plastics reach their limits or would possibly melt in very demanding applications. Due to the high glass transition temperature of 315 °C, the material retains its dimensional stability and flexural strength even at high temperatures and does not tend to creep under load. Processing can only be carried out by hot pressing.

TECAPOWDER PI is particularly suitable for the production of membranes that require special release properties and a special optical coating. This polyimide granulate is also suitable for special coatings and polymer alloys.

Ensinger offers TECAPOWDER PI yellow as granulate or powder in different particle sizes and degrees of dryness. For higher wear resistance or strength, fillers such as graphite or glass can be added before processing.

TECAPOWDER PI yellow is based on Evonik's P84®.
