TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh

TECAPOWDER PI VPD powder (Vacuum Pre Dried) suitable as filler.

TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh is a pre-dried polyimide and is manufactured from the Evonik P84® polymer. It is a further development of TECAPOWDER PI yellow. The difference lies in the processing of TTECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh, whereby it is pre-dried in a vacuum at the end of the manufacturing process (VPD, vacuum pre-dried). This reduces the content of volatile components within the material.

VPD grades are used as low-level fillers in PTFE materials. By adding 5 - 20 % TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh to PTFE, wear-resistant PTFE compounds can be created that extend the performance range of standard PTFE materials, enabling their use at higher pressures, speeds and temperatures.

When used in the modification of PTFE, this material also improves friction and wear properties, especially with soft mating partners such as bronze or aluminium.  In addition, creep resistance is increased many times over compared to unfilled PTFE. This means that TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh can also be used in applications where stiffness at high temperatures are required.

The TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh is highly cross-linked and is suitable as a filler in fluoropolymers. In addition, the surface quality of peel films made from PTFE compounds filled with TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow -1200 mesh is excellent.

The TECAPOWDER PI powder is available in a particle size of -1200 mesh.
