TECAPOWDER PI VPD HT powder (Vacuum Pre Dried) suitable as filler.

TECAPOWDER PI HT VPD yellow -325 mesh is based on the high-performance polymer polyimide and is the further development of TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow, which is pre-dried. By adding another monomer (PMDA to BTDA), an even higher glass transition temperature can be achieved to withstand applications in the high temperature range. TECAPOWDER PI HT VPD yellow also achieves higher thermo-oxidative values compared to TECAPOWDER PI VPD yellow.

TECAPOWDER PI HT VPD yellow grades are highly cross-linked and are suitable as fillers in fluoropolymers. The reinforcement of PTFE with TECAPOWDER PI HT VPD yellow has many advantages over inorganic fillers. The most important property is the excellent wear behaviour achieved without abrasion of the counterpart

TECAPOWDER PI HT VPD yellow is an active filler in PTFE. This is demonstrated by a greatly increased creep resistance under elevated temperatures and good mixing of the powder into the matrix. Extremely fine powders (-1200 mesh and -425 mesh) result in excellent surfaces of machined parts and peel films.

These PTFE/PI compounds can be produced under the standard conditions of the PTFE sintering process (free-form sintering) and are an excellent alternative to PEEK composites, PTFE/carbon, PTFE/Ekonol and Rulon J due to their mechanical and tribological properties.

The main applications for this TECAPOWDER PI powder are compressor parts, piston rings, hydraulic seals, dynamic seals and sealing tapes.

TECAPOWDER PI HT VPD yellow is available in particle sizes -425 mesh, -325 mesh and -325/+1200 mesh.
