Low outgassing plastics

For certain industries such as the semiconductor, aircraft or energy industry, there are strict requirements for the purity of plastics with regard to outgassing and the presence of ionic impurities.
Low outgassing materials are used in applications in high vacuum environments such as aerospace or semiconductors. Many high performance plastics from Ensinger are able to meet these stringent requirements, offering maximum material purity, while also ensuring minimal water absorption, resulting in added stability when working at high vacuum. Part rejection rates can be reduced because of the minimal risk of contamination.

 Ionic purity

In ultra clean production environments such as in the semiconductor and solar industry, ion impurities can result in contamination and higher rejection rates.

The following Ensinger high-performance materials for semiconductor applications can be classed in the “high purity” category:

TECAPEEK GF30 natural

This is a special 30% glass filled PEEK modification that Ensinger manufactures under the name TECAPEEK GF30 natural.

TECASINT 2011 natural

TECASINT 2011 natural is one of the unfilled natural grades. It has a very high modulus of elasticity, high rigidity and hardness. TECASINT 2011 natural is highly pure with low outgassing.

TECAPEEK natural

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) - TECAPEEK natural is a high performance, high temperature, semi-crystalline thermoplastic manufactured by Ensinger...
