TECAMID 6 FRT black

Flame retardant plastic PA6 black

TECAMID 6 FRT black is a flame retardant plastic, and is therefore included in the group of non flammable plastics. This flame resistant PA6 plastic is equivalent to all other nylon PA 6 materials when it comes to mechanical, chemical, thermal and electrical properties. Thus, it can be considered a material with good sliding properties and excellent resistance to oil and grease.
By adding a flame retardant, we achieve flammability requirements consistent with UL94 V-0 plastic classification. Compared to all other engineering plastics, however, it has a unique advantage in terms of flammability. This makes it a very good alternative to more expensive high-performance plastics which are also V-0 plastics.
Furthermore, the plastic is interesting because the additive used is halogen-free and thus meets many of the needs for different industries. As a result, this plastic is often found in applications where there are flammability requirements, such as in aircraft interiors, or railway components. In addition, since the material is coloured black, it can also be used for outside applications.
We also offer a flammability certificate for this fire resistant plastic, in which the provisions of EN 455454 regarding use in rail transport are met.
