TECACOMP PEEK XT TRM PVX black 1061177
Tribologically optimised PEEK with increased heat resistance
TECACOMP PEEK XT TRM PVX black is a high-performance PEEK compound developed for tribologically demanding applications. As PEEK granules with an optimised polymer structure, it combines maximum temperature and chemical resistance with excellent friction and wear properties, making it ideal for functional components in continuous industrial use.
The PEEK compound has a glass transition temperature of 170°C and a melting point of 385°C – approximately 20°C and 40°C above the values for standard PEEK. It can be used continuously up to 260°C and short term up to 300°C without significant loss of dimensional stability. The modified polymer structure gives the PEEK granulate significantly increased heat resistance.
The addition of carbon fibres mechanically reinforces the PEEK compound, resulting in an increase in elastic modulus, strength, and toughness. Graphite and PTFE also provide intrinsic solid lubrication, enabling reliable use in tribological systems even under dry running conditions. This makes TECACOMP PEEK XT TRM PVX black suitable for both lubricated and unlubricated applications with high friction and wear loads. The material represents a balanced solution in the conflict between friction and wear optimisation.
The PEEK granules are specially designed for processing in PEEK plastic injection moulding and enables the production of complex, dimensionally stable components with high thermal and mechanical continuous loads. Typical areas of application are plain bearings, valves, and guide elements in the automotive industry, in mechanical engineering, and in industrial friction systems where tribological performance and long-term stability are required.
