TECAPEI natural is an amorphous high-performance plastic based on polyetherimide (PEI). In its natural grade, the material corresponds to the PEI polymer ULTEM 1000 and is one of the most widely used high-temperature plastics on the market. PEI is selected when components must remain dimensionally stable at elevated temperatures over the long term while also requiring high strength, stiffness, and excellent electrical insulation properties. Thanks to its inherent flame retardancy and low smoke generation, this PEI polymer is particularly suitable for applications with increased safety requirements.

Typical applications of the use for PEI material include electrical engineering and electronics, such as connectors and housing components, as well as applications with higher demands for temperature resistance and fire protection, for example in the automotive and aerospace industries. PEI material is also used in mechanical engineering for electrically insulating components and structural parts. It can also be suitable for medical applications, provided the specific requirements and necessary compliances are verified. For higher mechanical demands, we also offer a glass fibre reinforced modification in our portfolio: TECAPEI GF30 natural.

TECAPEI natural is available as PEI plate and PEI rod and is particularly suitable for machining. We also supply the material as cut-to-size parts manufactured to your individual dimensions. We are happy to support you in selecting the appropriate dimensions and assessing the operating conditions.
